Hillis Financial Services was founded by John L. (Jack) Hillis in 2001. Jack has more than 40 years experience providing financial planning and asset management advice to individuals, corporate executives and business owners.
Jack provides a deep understanding of the financial markets and a wealth of knowledge related to investment allocation, retirement planning, tax management minimization strategies and overall portfolio management. This invaluable experience has enabled him to help his clients in working toward building a foundation for their future.
Jack leads a friendly, knowledgeable and client-focused team, with more than $300 million in brokerage and advisory assets (through LPL Financial as of December 31, 2012) for more than 300 clients. He holds his securities registrations through LPL Financial. Since 2006, Jack has been named to the LPL Financial Chairman’s Council, placing him among the Top 2% of LPL Financial advisors nationwide based on revenue (2006-2017). This demonstrates his exceptional performance and commitment to client service.
Jack has lectured extensively, providing educational seminars to corporations and individuals on financial planning and asset management. He was co-host of the television show Almaden Street Week on the Financial News Network and has been quoted frequently in the San Jose Mercury.
Earlier in his career, Jack was a Branch Manager for two West Coast regional investment firms and served for six years in the California National Guard. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Santa Clara University.
Jack has been affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of Silicon Valley for 25 years and served as President for three years. He enjoys golf, travel, wine collecting and professional sports. His wife Polly is an acclaimed fine art oil painter.
